Two Putt Creeping Bluegrass Seed

“Two Putt”Creeping Bluegrass (Poa Reptans)
This new perennial grass is medium green depending on fertility and forms a uniform, dense turf at greens height. It is medium to fine textured and does not flower during the first year of establishment unless it is vernalized. Germinates rapidly in 5 to 7 days under optimum conditions especially when kept continually moist. It is very vigorous and mixes well with creeping bent grass in a 50%/50% mixture. Is drought and shade tolerant and recovers well after water stress events. Tolerates close mowing to 1/8″ ( optimum mowing height on greens is 5/32), but will also perform well at 1/2 inch mowing height. Creeping bluegrass is a deep rooted grass which has exhibited some field resistance to pink snowmold. It is well adapted to the cool moist climate, especially the Pacific NW. On sand greens it perform very well with regular foliar applications of STEM (soluable trace elements) at 1 oz/week/1,000 sq. ft in combination with either 0.1 or 0.2 lbs N in a 20-10=20 foliar spray. On sandy soils it responds more favorably to foliar (liquid) fertilizer applications compared to granular sources. Respnds to “Embark” at 0.2 fl. oz. per 1000 sq. ft. for significant control of flowering in the spring.
Seeding rate 2 to 3 lbs/1000 sq.ft.
