Vivacious Tetraploid Annual Ryegrass

Vivacious Tetraploid Annual Ryegrass is a new and substantially vigorous plant with excellent yield performance. Whether it’s used to freshen up a pasture, create a wildlife plot, or even as erosion control for a hillside, it will deliver top performances in yield, feed quality and supplemental energy. It is an excellent choice for grazing, harvesting, cover cropping and wildlife.

Seeding Rate:
Straight:       30-40 lbs. per acre

Planting Dates/Tips: Late summer through late fall & spring.
Plant 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch deep

Areas of Use: Vivacious establishes rapidly and provides high quality temporary forage. It produces vastly palatable high yields (over 8 tons of forage production in some cases). When grazing, overgrazing should be avoided by the rotation of livestock. Vivacious should be well rooted before animals are turned out. Depending on growing conditions, grazing should be accomplished 70 to 90 days after planting. Remove livestock when grazed down to  3 inches. When machine harvesting, best quality forage comes when the plant is in its boot stage.

Waste Management: Vivacious is able to withstand large amounts of nitrogen from frequent manure applications. But caution should be used when feeding ryegrass under heavy fertility as it can produce nitrogen toxicity. A forage analysis should be done before feeding.
